Questions about my experience in Group Quarters Advanced Visit portion of Census Operations. I believe that they planned to promote from within before even interviewing me as an external candidate, because I ended up in another position at the Census. I met and actually had to help set up e-mail accounts for the person who was eventually hired as a Regional Technician (the position I interviewed for). I asked him nonchalantly, where he worked before coming to the current position, and he said he was at a local census office doing the same exact thing, and that the promotion to the Regional position was automatic.
