I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at TuSimple (Austin, TX) in May 2022
Interview
The interview process is pretty straightforward and the questions was asked more focus on the practical technical skills and experience instead of the knowledge from book.
Process is also running very smoothly and fast especially when you called out it’s urgent like you got multiple offers in hand.
Recruiters are all very nice and helpful, very nice to talk to them

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at TuSimple (San Diego, CA) in Sep 2022
Interview
A friend submitted a referral in their system and I got an email from a recruiter to schedule an online meeting the next morning. Started with a half hour friendly chat with the recruiter, went through two technical interviews with the engineers and and three panel interviews with managers and directors. The technical interviews were done on HackRank. The engineers were obviously experts in their field. The coding problems were not too hard that I couldn't do anything at all yet not too easy that I could just type out the code. They were designed to testing your ability to implement functionalities, catch corner cases, and optimize performance. The interviewers were there to give you hints and probing for your thought process. The panel interviews on Google Meet. One of them was about software architecture design, the other two revolved around and experiences in general. The entire process was swift and friendly. The recruiter, Olesya, was always there to let you know what to expect next.

Question 1
Not sure if it's a good idea to post interview questions here. For the software position, it helps to get familiar with HackRank and to brush up on data structures and algorithms. Also, be prepared to elaborate on the items in your resume.
