      HR Analyst Interview

      Sep 18, 2024
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at TrueNorth Stores

      Interview

Will have you go through 3 rounds of interviews just to practically ghost you. But that's not even the worst part. I had to sit through one interview listening to two HR ladies brag about how their current jobs was just handed to them. They had zero prior experience, but apparently the company "begged" them to take the jobs. One even said the company took her out to lunch to "schmooze" her into taking the job. As an experienced woman of color it is not lost on me the sheer insensitivity and tone-deafness of these two white ladies bragging about having jobs they aren't qualified for. One of the ladies admitted she knew nothing of the HR Analyst role so didn't know what to ask or whether the answers I was providing to her was appropriate or not. I was left wondering why she was part of the interview in the first place. Felt like a performative waste of time. She also had no clue what the FLSA was!!! Like that is HR 101 and she didn't know it!! Also didn't seem to know or couldn't handle FMLA so the company is spending money to outsource it. Meritocracy in Corporate America is a lie. The job is 100% onsite and they seem surprised that they keep losing people. Who wants to travel out there every day to work with colleagues who clearly aren't qualified for their jobs (and gloat about it). The place seemed like a ghost town the 2 times I was there onsite which is weird if apparently everyone is in-office. I would probably lose my mind in there. But I was willing to just deal with it all if offered the job - all feedback was positive - but I was left waiting weeks after my final interview for a hiring decision. Apparently they had to wait on leadership to approve of my hire - funny how a woman of color has to play the long waiting game while they got their jobs handed to them on a platter. I think they simply didn't have the guts to tell me they didn't want me on the team especially after they embarrassed themselves in front of me by not knowing what the FLSA was and apparently still not knowing how to navigate the HRIS system they've had for the last 15 years already!
