I applied online - but also followed up with a hard copy and a cover letter via USPS on a Thursday. By the following Monday I received a phone call from Chris Martin, Senior Manager, Recruiting acknowledging the receipt of my resume. I was very impressed. It is rare these days to have anyone contact you personally after submitting an application, much less to provide an update for said position. Even more impressive was this experience due to the fact that the Executive Assistant role had an offer on the table with another candidate. I appreciated the very personal and thoughtful phone call and felt that TrueCar has some very classy, very professional senior staff members. I am completely impressed and have the feeling that this is exactly the kind organization I'd like to be a part of.

Interview
Phone screening went smooth overall. Asked basic questions about your experience, your future plans, and what you can bring to the company. After the phone interview with the recruiter, they mentioned they would send over a written assignment to assess how you work. The assignment was due a week after.

I was caught off guard with the assignment considering these were behavioral questions and I never had to have homework before for a pre screen. I usually handle these behavioral questions during a phone call or an in person interview.
