I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Trader Joe's (Denver, CO) in Jul 2015
Interview
Short, happened right when I brought my resume in. The manager interviewed me in the middle of the store and I was SOOO taken a back and unprepared. I didn't even think I would talk to the general manager while dropping off an application, but he saw to me right away and just started asking interview questions. I was told by an a friend that works at Trader Joe's not to dress up. That his manager hated when people came in dressed up. The general manager who interview me was wearing a Hawaiian shirt.
I had a call with the hiring manager about a sales associate position. After a few days, I got a follow up to come in for a basic interview that went over my previous sales associate experiences.

Question 1
What kind of previous sales associate experiences do I have?
The interview process was pretty standard for a retail environment. They asked the usual questions you would expect for this type of role and required the usual amount of experience.

Question 1
How will you improve the customer experience at Trader Joes
Was awesome - very friendly and down to earth, seems like a great place to work. Hope I get the job. Some easy questions, about work experience and the like, but also some curveballs. They asked me to give a lot of scenarios where I encountered certain difficulties and $18 an hour is not bad.
