I applied online. I interviewed at Trader Joe's (Washington, DC) in Jul 2023
Interview
I apply for TJ online and received an email back within an hour. I was elated like I got the job. I called the number to schedule an interview. They seemed to care more about accommodating me just to come on in when I’m free. So I scheduled the interview two days after receiving the email. I went in on time, took the bus. I can tell when I got there that the vibe for the staff was a little lack luster but I didn’t let it get to me I was still upbeat. I went to the front desk to ask for the interviewee. I was told to sit in the waiting area for him but he did greet me immediately when he came around the corner. We didn’t go into the break room but spoke near the waiting room by the exit. (Apparently I have an incurable virus cuz I wasn’t allowed in the back) First sign of a red flag, he asked a few questions but he seem like he wanted to get the interview over with quickly. He didn’t speak about pay, benefits, discuss in detail job function or boarding n orientation so I knew I wouldn’t get the job. I don’t get it. I had an open availability, I told them I can come in as early as store needs. He basically shook my hand then said expect an email. Suffice to say I didn’t get the job. Idk how I wouldn’t have more jovial than the other employees working there but I guess I just I just have bad luck. I have an eviction note and in looking into shelter but that's my problem. God bless u all
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Explain a time u experience great customer service?
The interview process was absolutely wonderful! I didn't feel stressed or nervous and it felt like I was just chatting with a friend! Trader Joes is a great company and the interview was great.
Very chill, asked things a lot of job interviews don't, more personal down to earth questions. Made me feel very comfortable. Professional but also cool vibes from everyone who interviewed me. Went to one interview with mates and another with the captain.
I had 3 separate interviews. 1 was over the phone. 2 were in person. I never heard anything after the third interview. I called the store about a week later and they let me know they didn’t actually have any available positions. Really felt like they wasted my time.
