I applied online. I interviewed at Trader Joe's (Santa Barbara, CA) in Jan 2022
Interview
I went to a group interview with four other candidates. We were all asked the same questions and were asked to answer them all one after the next. Basic questions like, “ What are your two favorite products?”, “Tell me about a time you had to work on a team and what are the most important aspects of a team for it to function properly?” And, “why are you looking for a job now?”. Overall, I would say it was fairly lighthearted and easy questioning yet still stressful with the overall feeling of being compared to other interviewees and their responses (listening and trying not to repeat what they’ve said while remembering the question that was asked in order to directly answer it).

Question 1
What, out of all of the positions you would be rotating through, would you be most excited to work? (Options were: register, bagging, stocking, breaking down boxes, cleaning)
It's two to three interviews, the final with the Captain (or highest manager) of the store. The interviews are largely to get to know your personality and how well you would do at customer service.
The interview process was absolutely wonderful! I didn't feel stressed or nervous and it felt like I was just chatting with a friend! Trader Joes is a great company and the interview was great.
Very chill, asked things a lot of job interviews don't, more personal down to earth questions. Made me feel very comfortable. Professional but also cool vibes from everyone who interviewed me. Went to one interview with mates and another with the captain.
