      Store Manager Trainee Interview

      Apr 4, 2016
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Fargo, ND
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Tires Plus (Fargo, ND) in Apr 2016

      Interview

Met with store manager when I told it would be with zone manager. Left after 15 minutes when told the pay. Later zone manager called me and gave me correct pay for position and continued the interview by phone. However he stated that there is no time limit for the trainee learning, and no managers are ever ready for a store in less than 6 months. Very condescending during interview. He stated because of their business model and computer system it takes about a year to be ready for a store but when a store opens up they interview candidates across the country, so if you have been training in a district for a store, there is no guarantee that you will ever get a store in that district. He would not tell the average revenue at a store because that is not how they measure success. REALLY? it doesn't matter the revenue a store is bringing in? This may be a great place for a new graduate to start a career at but, for someone with lots of experience, this is not a place to begin unless you want a pay cut and to start at the bottom. Kept repeating how they are so special and better than anyone else that is why it takes so long to become a store manager. After 30 years in management and store management If I need more than 6 months training something is wrong. I feel like they want a bunch of front desk people to work and have extra bodies when needed.
