      Behavioral Health Associate Interview

      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Timberline Knolls (Lemont, IL) in Feb 2019

      Interview

I had a brief phone interview where the recruiter asked me a few questions. They were why do I want to work at TK, do you have any mental health experience, and questions about schedules and shifts I was interested in. After that she asked me when I was available to come in for a interview. My in person interview was an interesting experience. I got there and checked in with the receptionists, and they had me fill out background check paperwork. My interview was at 10:30, and I kept looking at the clock when it got to be 10:30 and then continued to go past that. Then I heard the receptionists talking about me and how I was still sitting there and no one had come to get me. I heard them call the recruiter to tell them about me and the situation. Finally at about 10:55, someone came to get me. She was super nice, but I could tell she was not prepared for the interview, because she wasn’t the person I was scheduled to interview with. I still really liked her. She made the interview laidback which I appreciated. She asked me why I wanted to work in the mental health field, about my education, how I had learned about TK, if I would be comfortable working with residents who were suicidal and struggling with self-harm, what I would do if I saw a resident self-harming, and about some of my volunteer experience. She explained the position and what a typical day would look like and then she asked about part time or full time and if I wanted days or evenings. And that was it. It only took 20 minutes. Overall it a positive experience, just a little anxiety and feeling awkward about the whole mix up with who was going to interview me
