      Content Writer Interview

      Oct 4, 2016
      Anonymous interview candidate
      South Windsor, CT
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at TicketNetwork (South Windsor, CT)

      Interview

BEFORE I even interviewed, they put me in a room and gave me a "basic skills" test (which is really a standardized test a la SATs), a grammar test, and several background info forms. You have an hour to take the tests and fill everything out. Two weeks after the interview, I got called and told I didn't get the job because while I was "the front runner for the position, scored too low on the tests," even though non of the questions were related to the function of my job, and I scored well in the grammar test - which WAS a big function of the job. It was like taking a more 'riddle me this' level of the SAT's and had my 5+ years of actual work experience discounted. I was told they chose the other candidate strictly because they scored higher in the skills test. The ACTUAL interview went well. Spoke to 2 management level individuals who were very friendly, asked great insightful questions, and had an overall positive rapport with them. But hey - knowing the True or False answer of "If all burpees are slurpees, but some slurpees are blimpies, then all blimpies are burpees" is MUCH more important than your actual work experience, references, skills, etc, is it a wonder there are thousands of accomplished individuals without work in the industry?
