I was supposed to interview for a Sr. MLE role. 1. Code pairing - it was a good experience 2. Technical Interview - Before this one recruiter contacted me that the MLE position was given to someone else and we have a senior data scientist role available. I said it seems like a role mismatch but he said the its one and the same 😂 . The interview was then a nightmare for me. There were two senior data scientists who did not even turned on their cameras. They expected to talk for an hour and a half. I was just blabbering in front of a black screen without any feedback. Then after asking them if there are any questions they started asking me questions about data collection, statistical tests. Zero questions on model deployments, model training. This was a classic case of role mismatch. Recruiters don’t have a clue what position they are recruiting for and have no idea how they align.
