I applied online. I interviewed at The Salt Lake Tribune in Jun 2021
Interview
I spoke with the Marketing and Analytics Director on a 30 min video call, which seemed to go well with easy conversation about my experience and the specifics on the role.
Unfortunately, I lose respect for employers that ghost candidates after giving a timeline of next steps - especially when candidates follow up. Please be considerate of people's time.

What is your experience with lead generation and ecommerce?
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at The Salt Lake Tribune (Salt Lake City, UT) in Apr 2016
Interview
It was a quick process that involved, email, a google video interview, and phone calls. I was hired before they met me in person. I definitely used my time visiting to help myself seal the deal in my head though. The video interview with my future editors was very casual. I appreciated that there wasn't any annoying HR website to interact with. The whole thing was very personable and I interacted with a real person the entire time. No one hid behind a HR face. I got a real honest sense of their jobs and the work environment and felt like they included me on every part of the process.
I applied through university. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at The Salt Lake Tribune in Apr 2012
Interview
Met with Managing Editor at the time. Straight-forward process for selecting the interns. Their dress was button up and slacks, very retro journalism in my opinion. Always be nice to the gal at the front desk...never a bad idea. Be professional and be knowledgable. Come in with clips and general ideas for stories or areas you would like to cover.
