Have 25 years on the industry with sales being one of the strongest employees with each position and company I have been in. 1 interview and I was offered a very strong salary for a large role in sales.
Brought in and was given no training. Their had a stand in person to work on the events while I was “learning”. No one taught me their system other than a few minutes here and there. I picked it up on my own but not at the rate of my predecessor whom was there for over 25 years. Learning a new property takes about 60 days. The stand in was leaving which would leave me to be alone with volume and process that was never taught to me.
I voiced this. I was told I deserve to have support and to feel valued. That was from a stand in director.
2 days later I was laid off. “Disappointed in my learning curve”. Not sure what was expected from never sharing the role with me, never being trained, not even really having a handle on how the place runs.
I was let go with no training and was learning but clearly would be much quicker if anyone actually wanted to train me.
I’d be very careful. Maybe people come on and out of that office at a fast rate and yet no one seems to think this is an issue. Not a very strong support and many different leaders coming in and out there. To be fired after 30 days and having the intelligence to get it and bring money to the table but that not being considered is a very red flag operation.
