      Interview

Amazing experience, had the opportunity to meet with numerous visionary leaders who are all deeply committed to improving human health. Each interviewer asked complimentary questions but also gave plenty of time to dig into their experience and expectations.

      Application

      Interview

They handled my application very rudely. They promised to get back to me a day later after the onsite interview. I Waited for them for weeks and then they rejected my application. When I inquired about the status of my application during this time, they got back with excuses like: manager is a sick, manger is out in vacation etc. My best guess is that they were shopping around for a cheaper labor. My impression, all they care is to find researchers with reasonable qualifications not necessary the best ones but they can accept very low salaries in a such very expensive state. Their data science teams don't even consist of genuine data scientists. Of course, any well qualified DS either rejects their cheap offer or accepts it and leaves afterwards after facing the harsh reality in Boston. All the money goes for faculty whereas all the hard work is done by associate researches, research scientists, postdocs etc.

      The Broad Institute response

Hi, this is Chelsea from Human Resources. We read all of the feedback we receive regarding interviews and we take it very seriously, as we care a lot about the experience of our candidates. I’m sorry to hear about your experience and impression of our institute. We want everyone who comes to the Broad to leave with a sense of excitement and empowerment, and it sounds like we missed the mark in this case. I will be working with our teams to improve our processes for the future in hopes that this does not happen again.
