      Recruiter Interview Interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at The Axel Group in Sep 2023

      Interview

I interviewed with Axel Group in September 2023. I have never felt more disrespected by a stranger and at the same time thankful that I know not to treat people in such a nasty manner. The first person who interviewed me was a Business Development Manager and that conversation was perfectly pleasant. Then the CEO of Axel Group, Sean, walks into the office after having me wait for over thirty minutes. Other employees kept coming in to apologize that he was late and explained he was helping a recruiter with a computer issue. Anyway, Sean finally he walks in and I could tell he was frustrated over whatever he had been doing. He sits down and says "Tell me about yourself and why the Axel Group." I told him "I like working with people and spoke to my past experiences/jobs." He interrupted me to say "You seem like a nice person, but the vibe I am getting in these 2 minutes is that you are shy and incapable of going after things in life." I was so taken aback and immediately started talking about my work experience in which I hit quota and surpassed goals. He goes "Let me tell you" and then starts a rant about how I could not do the work. In my shock (I wish I had stood up to the bully in hindsight), I said "Thank you for the interview. Seems like a great place to work." His narcissistic self says to me "Thank you. I appreciate that. We are a great place to work." It was very clear to me that the culture of the Axel Group is one in which Sean bullies people and acts aggressive in order to get his way. This has been confirmed to me by other employees at the company. The entire experience was humiliating and hurtful on top of Sean acting like a total sexist towards me. DO NOT WORK AT AXEL GROUP AND DO NOT GIVE THIS MAN ANY BUSINESS. HE IS A NASTY PERSON, WHO TAKES PLEASURE AT MAKING OTHERS FEEL SMALL. He clearly is very insecure about his looks and overall terrible personality. Go to another recruiting firm and I guarantee you the people, candidates, and jobs will be better. Also Sean aka Bully shame on you for you telling me "I am incapable." My current employer and the $250K I have brought into the company thinks I am pretty darn capable. Plus the five graduate schools I was accepted into.
