I applied in-person. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Tesla (Fremont, CA) in Mar 2016
Interview
The process began in December of 2014 where I declined the offer. When the section began to pick up steam I was recontacted in January of 2016. The interview process took 3 months of phone calls, SKYPE interviews, and a 5 hour on site interview.
Friendly interview. I felt very welcome and encouraged by the team. There was a presentation held by a manager about the current projects. Technical questions should be easy for someone freshly out of college. They were theoretical.
I applied online. I interviewed at Tesla in Aug 2025
Interview
Interviewer seemed friendly, I felt like interview went okay but got instantly rejected right after, The interviewer asked a few basic resume questions (what was your biggest challenge? debugging process?) as well as whiteboarding one of my projects. Some technical questions at the end
The interview process was quite comprehensive and covered a wide range of technical topics. Many of the questions focused on embedded systems, circuit design, and VLSI concepts. There were also some problem-solving scenarios to test analytical thinking.
