      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Tennessee 811 (Nashville, TN) in Aug 2010

      Interview

Best way to get on with this company is to know someone that works with the company. They do not discriminate, but HR does rely heavily on having the personal opinion of someone who works with the company. I was given an application by an existing employee. I turned the application in myself so that I could meet management and give a good impression. Be as personable as possible! They enjoy people that can communicate well and have a friendly, outgoing attitude. There are 1 to 2 interviews depending on how many applicants they have. Be ready to ask the basic interview questions (What are your 3 greatest strengths, and 3 greatest weaknesses, etc...) They always ask one question in particular, something like... "If it were an extremely busy day and there were 30 calls in queue and the customer on the phone was new and unfamiliar with the process, how would you handle the situation?" Correct answer being something like "I would provide the best possible customer service to the customer at hand and not rush or worry about the next call that needed to be taken." Be talkative, friendly and show initiative to learn and they will love you. If you don't hear back from them, be proactive and call them back and let them know you're very interested. The interview can be a little intimidating. When I interviewed there 3 managers in the room asking questions and writing things down. Don't let this intimidate you, they are all as goofy as can be once you get to know them.
