Candidates were shortlisted based on CGPA. It had around 10 people. It was an off-campus drive. ROUND 1: AMCAT TEST- four different sections: Time allotted- 60 minutes. Aptitude:16 (India Bix will help you cover all topics) ​Technical:18 (Control systems+ Machines+ Power system+ Basic Electronics) (You can find those technical questions in random websites. Can be easily cleared if you are strong in all subjects.) ​Comprehension (English): 22 Personality :72 ROUND 2: GROUP DISCUSSION: Topic: Is Social Media an advantage or disadvantage? We were provided with papers and pen and 5 minutes were allotted for gathering the points. GD round happened for about 15 mins. Do not get diverted from the topic. Make 3-4 Valid points. It was a non-elimination round. ROUND 3: TECHNICAL + HR INTERVIEW: Questions are only from your resume like Internships, project. Do not mention anything that you don’t know in your resume. Be very strong in your areas of Interest. Since I mentioned Power transmission and distribution and Machines as my areas of interest, I had questions from those. Here are the few questions: 1. What is Corona? How do you reduce it? 2. What are FACTS Devices? 3. What are the methods of speed control in Induction machines? 4. What is the breakdown strength of air? 5. What is Series and Shunt Compensation? HR asked some questions like: 1. Are you behind the package or the field?(Since core companies offer lesser package) 2. Why core industry over IT? (Since I had an offer from CTS) 3. Are you interested in higher studies? 4. Greatest achievement in life? Try to impress the Panel with reasonable truths. Also the way you present the answers will create positive impression on you.

Technical interview followed by HR round. The interviewers were very calm and also helped me when I couldn’t answer few questions. The only drawback was the fact that we were asked to assemble around 10Am in the morning but the actual interview started by 12:30pm.
