I recently had an interview experience with this company that was quite disappointing. After being contacted by HR and sharing my current salary package, I was invited for an on-site interview. The process included both a technical and HR interview, which I attended at my own expense.
During the HR interview, I requested a bit of flexibility in my schedule for two days, which I was willing to make up by coming in early or staying late on other days. To my surprise, the HR representative said they could provide the flexibility but, in return, offered me a package 60% lower than my current salary.
If the company cannot meet a reasonable salary that matches or exceeds a candidate's current compensation, they should be upfront from the beginning. Inviting candidates for an on-site interview, which costs time and money, only to offer a significantly lower package, is not professional.
Advice to Management: Be transparent with salary offerings early in the process. It shows respect for the candidate's time and effort, and prevents unnecessary interviews.
