      Marketing Freelancer Interview

      Jun 10, 2021
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a staffing agency. I interviewed at Tails.com

      Interview

I participated in a Zoom meeting the lead interviewer was late, angry, dismissive and I found her extremely unprofessional. She spoke for more than fifteen minutes, and showed me by the types of question she then asked me that she wasn’t at all competent, and she shouldn’t have been running the interview process. She asked competency based questions that were too junior for the role that was vacant and she also had a lack of knowledge about the questions she was asking; that I gave very technical responses to. I found the lead interviewer under qualified to be leading the interview and very rude. I don’t think she knew what she was doing or the competencies she should have been looking for and asking questions about. In the end I received feedback that the company hired someone a lot more junior and cheaper and the interviewer fed back that I didn’t demonstrate competencies that she didn’t even ask me about in the ten minutes I was actually allowed to speak. It left me with an appalling opinion of Tails; who I had never heard of before the interview process (that’s how much help they need with marketing)!!

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

I was asked vague a vague question about running Social Media campaigns and I was asked a worryingly basic question about split-testing some very badly designed creative assets.
