Before the initial interview, there was an online questionnaire that took around 2 hours. Then I met with the CEO. Then I met with two members of the team. All interviews took place outside the actual office. Overall, the interviews and feedback during them were nice, really positive, and it seemed like things were going well. Then I was told they were still interviewing candidates and I would hear back near the end of February (a month and a half later -- a long time to wait for people actively interviewing). It is now mid-February and I never heard back. The job is still posted.
Unfortunately, this was a negative candidate experience. I loved the team, the CEO, and the work environment which seemed progressive, fun, and challenging. I just would have appreciated a message simply stating that I was not the right fit for the role. The company does not have a recruiting team or recruitment process in place, so it just felt a bit chaotic. My feedback would be to follow up more quickly with candidates, be upfront when they are not a good fit, and not set an interview process deadline so far out.
