It was a telephonic interview after the initial screening of CV. I was interviewed for the position of Product Manager - Nutraceuticals and the interview was conducted by GM Marketing.
The interview was non-technical and questions generic in nature. It was an easy interview with questions revolving around my past work experience, nature of job responsibilities. The company has plants in Pune, Solapur and Shirwal and I was asked if I would be comfortable travelling to the plant once a month. Since travelling was involved in my previous job as well the answer was in affirmative.
Further, I was told that my CV was an exact match for the role and the next round of interview would be scheduled soon and I should coordinate with the HR for that. However, I did not receive any calls till a week after the interview and called up the HR. I was told that the company was not considering any female candidates and would get back if only they didn't come across any suitable male candidates.
Seriouslyee???
Really? I mean in this jet age when women head huge organizations, you have a problem with hirig female candidates? and do u realize this half way through the process? this is the most lame excuse I have heard.
the good part is that I know about the sexist views now. They boast about being a Singapore based company but they are the most regressive company I have come across.
