Rapport was great with the interviewer. He gave me an additional resource for odd hours online teaching. He answered most of my questions. However, he was less than forthright when it came to my wage. Yes, I got quoted around $20 an hour; however, it was only in the email attachments after the interview that I discovered that rate is only good for 40 minutes. The rest of the time until the next class, I am paid $5.00 to leave feedback for the parents of the students of the previous class and prep + review for the next class. I'm not sorry, but my prep and feedback time is worth more than below minimum wage. If you want a good glass, maybe pay teachers fairly for ALL JOB FUNCTIONS. ALL JOB FUNCTIONS includes progress reports, getting realia or props for the next class, and reviewing the material for time and level constraints.
I went from being ready to be hired on the spot to running in the other direction for a fair teaching wage.
