      MVPD Relations Manager Interview

      Aug 5, 2015
      Anonymous employee
      Cedar Rapids, IA
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through other source. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Syncbak (Cedar Rapids, IA) in Jul 2014

      Interview

Initial contact was via email, then a couple of subsequent emails, then a couple of phone interviews, and finally a sit-down interview. I found the interview process to be a very honest experience, which is refreshing. No perfunctory fake nods and smiles or dumb, corporate template questions. Annette, the interviewer, was sincere and to-the-point. She asked what I knew about the company and the industry, as is expected, but what I liked was she asked about me as a person and made me feel like I could be honest and not worry about it. Sometimes when you interview you feel like you have to spin answers in a certain way. I didn't feel that way even though I was applying at a company where I didn't have the tech skills everyone else has. I was made to feel like Syncbak wants people of diverse fields and diverse skills (helps with hat wearing, you know) and that made me comfortable to be myself. You'll get direct questions if you interview at Syncbak and my best advice is to give honest, direct answers, don't spin because you won't fool anyone. If you get an email, respond quickly. It's a fast moving business and if you're not quick you're going to miss the boat.

      Question 1

What was my knowledge of the company? What was my previous experience? How able am I do move to different positions, if needed?
