While we are disappointed and not happy with your experience, we'd like to point out some facts. Yes, we did respond the same day we received the resume. Most people find it pleasant to receive a speedy response. The phone conversation did go well so we did extend the invitation to interview with the team. The interview happened on August 23rd. Based upon the date of this review (September 2nd), the 2-weeks cited had yet to transpire. We committed to respond with our feedback by weeks end. Due to the hiring manager being out sick, we were not able to respond until the first of the following week. For this we do apologize.
The conversation had no mention of freezing hiring. Anyone can see on our Careers page that we have several openings. We’re a small startup. We hire very strategically to maximize our impact. Not filling one position at this time is not extraordinary - it’s business. We’re sorry you were offended by this decision. As stated during our conversation, we would be interested in discussing future options. Fortunately for you, you stated you had an offer in-hand. In fact, a very good offer you were accepting with another startup. We offered our good wishes for your bright future.
