I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Susquehanna International Group in May 2023
Interview
The on-site experience was quite unusual. The hiring manager (HM) posed casual questions that transformed the atmosphere into more of a conversation rather than a formal interview. It was also clear the HM had not read my resume prior to the interview. However, I found it concerning that the HM couldn't provide satisfactory answers to my basic inquiries regarding the role and team, particularly concerning metrics and benchmarking success. HM also seemed overwhelmed and burnt out.
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Susquehanna International Group (Dublin, Dublin)
Interview
Quite a lot of phone calls and emails leading up to it. Had to create some sort of SIG account which turned out to be problematic. I have 27 emails to/from SIG and 6 phone calls. A bit excessive! From applying for the position to being told the final decision took two full months.
I first had an 'interview' via phone. I then did a second hour-long interview by phone. I was then told I'd be given a project to complete to test my abilities and that I'd be given A WEEK to do it. When I was later given the test (on a Wednesday afternoon) I was told I had just FOUR days to complete. They told me to hand it back Saturday afternoon. For me that's just THREE days. So much for a full week. I had to take a full day off work to do the project and spent about 15 hours at it. The final interview was 2 hours long mid-afternoon which meant I had to take another day off to do that. The interview was fairly intense with a lot of questions.
My main issue was when I was told via a generic copy/pasted email I didn't get the job they said it was company policy to not provide feedback. The least I would have expected after taking two working days off and stressing for 15 hours trying to get a project done for SIG would be some feedback.
I have to say, if I was valued so low in interview process I can't imagine how little they value their employees! Kind of glad I didn't get this position.
