I applied for one of the internship positions at the end of April and was contacted within one week to schedule a phone interview, after which I had a zoom interview. More than a week later, I was informed that another candidate was selected, but another position opened up, so I had 3 interviews and an assessment for that one. After that, I had another interview with the team I would have been working with. At some point during this process, I provided 3 references, but the company only reached out to two of them. Finally, a recruiter called me on a Monday morning to inform me that they had given the position to another candidate. Personally, I believe this was an issue of race, considering the majority of Black people at this company are in customer service or warehouse positions.
