Interview
I applied to Supermicro and didn’t hear back for almost two months before being invited to the first interview. The process stretched across four rounds: a 30-minute initial call, a two-hour second interview two weeks later, a one-hour third interview the following day, and finally an onsite two days after that.
The onsite was poorly managed. I was seated in a makeshift room where the janitor came in several times, and the technical portion consisted of printed React code snippets and Node.js exceptions to identify, which felt more like a high school pop quiz than a professional interview. My conversation with the manager focused only on day-to-day tasks, with no vision for long-term growth or development, and the overall environment felt stagnant.
To make matters worse, the manager promised to follow up within two weeks but never did. The lack of organization, professionalism, and vision made the experience disappointing, and I would rate it a 3/10.

Interview
I first applied for the Firmware Engineer position. I received my first interview with one of the recruiters. It was a simple 30 minute technical phone interview. I was asked to go over my resume and he asked my some technical questions relating to Operating Systems and Computer Networks. After this interview, I never heard back from the company. I then applied for the Systems Engineer position, but unfortunately did not receive an interview. I then gave up on applying to more positions until one of the Software Engineer team lead personally contacted me using his personal phone. He stated that he received my resume from the first recruiter that I interviewed with over the phone and thought that I would be a good fit for the Software Engineer role. So I then applied for the Software Engineer role, and got instantly rejected by HR. I relayed this information to the team lead and he told me he would talk to HR. Fast forward a few weeks with no updates, HR reaches out to me for a phone call to discuss "feedback" on my previous interviews. At the end of the call with HR, the HR representative stated that he is going to talk to the rest of the HR department and get back to me with an offer. Two days after my call with HR, the Software team lead calls me again for final questions and states that he is also waiting on HR to "finalize my offer". It has now been over three weeks and I have heard nothing back from HR or the Software Team Lead. I sent both of them a follow up email asking how the process is going and if I need to provide anymore information, but I have yet to hear back. This company suffers from lack of and poor communicaion. This whole situation has put me through a rollercoaster of emotions.
