I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Super Micro Computer, Inc. (Supermicro) (San Jose, CA)
Interview
1. You need to fill a big form about your background. It took me 15 mins to finish it.
2. In my case, it was not 1 on 1.
3. I didn't think the managers knew what type of candidates they were looking for. They told me that I didn't have the background they required and I was not a good fit for the position. However, I still got the chance for the 2nd interview.
4. The atmosphere was fine. They were friendly. However, they were kinda not flexible. They wanted to hear the specific and exact one-word or two-word answers and couldn't accept my answers explained with several sentences.
5. The managers need to be trained by HR. I was asked "how did you get your green card?", which was not an appropriate question at interview.
6. The interview was interrupted and ended by another meeting booked at the next time slot even though I felt the interview was not really finished. (At least I still had some questions wanna ask).

Interview
After the recruiter pre-screening, I expected a one-on-one interview with the hiring manager. However, it turned out to be an online panel with three interviewers, and I was the only one with video on. The setup was unexpected, but the questions were relevant to the role and my past experience.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Super Micro Computer, Inc. (Supermicro) (San Jose, CA) in Sep 2024
Interview
I only had 2 rounds of interview, first one is a chat with hiring manager and the second one is a one hour round table interview with 4 cross functional team members.

Question 1
Can you tell me about your day as a Program Manager?
I applied online. I interviewed at Super Micro Computer, Inc. (Supermicro) (San Francisco, CA) in Jan 2023
Interview
Interviewed twice for different roles. One interview seemed like the hiring manager was quite a bit less senior than myself, thus the role was not well matched for my seniority or expectations. Another interview went relatively well, but some company specific areas where I was not familiar with were the only hesitation voiced and the interviewer asked for me to create a detailed 6 slide technical presentation on those areas to submit to him to determine if we could proceed further based on my ability to learn it...... I decided to take the punt and burn a weekend learning the specific technical content. It was all simple to grasp, but just took a long time to gather all the content, process and create the presentation. I sent the presentation, which in reality should have been sufficient to enter a second round interview. But I wasted a lot of my personal time with no tangible follow up from the interviewer.
