I applied online. I interviewed at Suburban K9 (Houston, TX) in Aug 2020
Interview
It was in depth which I enjoyed the process. I wish they would have gone over the non compete earlier in the process. Because it is a large contract what they stated multiple times was the starting was 17 and it goes to 22 once you are trained. That was not in the contract. What was in the contract was not being able to train dogs in Houston or surrounding Houston of 10 mile radius. I want to understand contracts so I asked what that means. If I wanted to train bite work would that be a non compete since that's not something they do. It was turned around on me because I used that example but it could have been easily used as a reference as teaching a dog bird retrevals. The company did not like questions being asked and is a major red flag to me.
I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Suburban K9 (Chicago, IL) in Feb 2024
Interview
This is a multiple step interview process that takes months. First you go back and forth with HR. Then there's a phone call. Then video interview with multiple people. Then in person with multiple people that takes 5 hours and you have to take off of work for. They ask the same questions over and over. I felt like when I asked a question that it wasn't answered in a straight forward way. When in person, you got to work with a dog and have to do what they call is a skill building activity. It's really awkward as someone has to be blind folded and you have to try to replicate the pattern on the floor. It's weird. Then all just to be sent a rejection email.
