      Customer Success Manager Interview

      Nov 4, 2018
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Los Angeles, CA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Styku (Los Angeles, CA) in Oct 2018

      Interview

TL;DR : Overall extremely unprofessional company. I applied online and received an email stating that I was selected to move on to the final round of the interview even though all I did was apply. I sent a reply stating this confusion and he said that he meant to send me an invite for a phone interview. Already I was feeling weird about how unorganized this company was coming off as, but I decided to move forward anyways. A week later I had the phone interview. It was the only positive experience during this process. Very straight forward and organically led conversation in regards to my passion and skills. He told me he will be in contact with me in 2-4 days. 1 week later...I heard nothing from him so I decided to send a follow up email... 1 week later....Still nothing, so I decided to send my final follow up. This email was responded to the next day with an invite to their "headquarters". I soon will find out that the word 'headquarters' is a really really nice word to call it. After I received the in-person interview invite I of course responded quickly thanking him for the opportunity and with this 'thank you' email I followed up with a couple questions I had in regards to this in- person interview........and OF COURSE no response. One of my questions was asking what the dress code was. A week later I show up to their "headquarters" in business casual because he didn't respond to my questions. I am initially confused because the little building has another business running through it so after this confused I meet the main interviewer, and he is wearing sweats and a stained t-shirt with food on it. He is friendly and conversational, but throughout the interview he sort of laughs and keeps on commenting on how nicely I am dressed...this annoyed me. The first part of the interview was neat. I had to assemble their 3D scanner. I found this quite easy and intuitive. After that I had to stand up and explain how to assemble it to their 5 person team. This team was obviously bored and made it clear that they did not want to be there. Two of them were smiling and texting on their phones during the entire interview. One of the team members called on one of the guys texting to ask me a question, he quickly put his phone down and put his index finger on his laptop's screen and started to read a stereotypical interview question word by word as his index finger moved with his voice. No one deserves this level of blatant disrespect. This is when I realized that this company's culture was toxic and that I was worth more. I suggest the CEO does some house cleaning. A week later I received the basic "unfortunately we decided to move on with other candidates" email.
