I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience with StoneX's interview process warrants one.
The process itself was lengthy and demanding, which is understandable for a senior role. What wasn't acceptable was the lack of communication and basic professional courtesy that followed.
After completing a presentation - built on a fabricated dataset that required significant time and effort, which I took seriously and delivered on - I was told they were keeping their options open while interviewing other candidates, fair enough. What followed was complete radio silence for over a month, with no updates. When they did eventually respond, the interaction was dismissive and unprofessional. I was accused of using AI in my presentation without any basis, and when I assured them the work was entirely my own, the response was confrontational rather than professional. It felt as though the assumption had already been made before I even began - likely a reaction to dealing with AI misuse from other candidates. While that frustration is understandable, entering an interview having already decided a candidate is dishonest is neither fair nor professional. Giving people the benefit of the doubt costs nothing.
If this is how StoneX treats candidates during an interview process, where first impressions are supposed to be at their best, it speaks volumes about the internal culture. I'd encourage anyone considering a role here to weigh that seriously before investing time in their pipeline.
