I applied online. I interviewed at Step One School (Berkeley, CA)
Interview
Step One emailed me back within the week of my application, however, the interview process took about a month. First was a phone screening, next a school tour, then they called my references. I eventually had to email them to see if they were still interested in my candidacy after I didn’t hear from them for about a week. I was then called in for a panel interview, which seemed more intimidating than it really was. Next they had me lead a short circle time and project. I then received my job offer within the week.

I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Step One School (Berkeley, CA) in Feb 2013
Interview
The hiring process was one of the more effortless, easygoing interviews I've been in since I started in the workforce, period. I contacted various Nurseries/Preschools throughout the East Bay to see who was in need of an extra set of hands, Step One being the only responsive school. I spoke to their Administrative Assistant over the phone where we scheduled an interview a week later. As I said before, one of the most chill interviews ever. It honestly wasn't even a real "interview", he asked me a few questions about my background in childcare and my schedule do to this being a sporadic, on-call position and that was pretty much it. Towards the end, he told me I was "extremely overdressed" for the interview, although he respected and appreciated my professionalism. Gave me a quick tour, I met a few of the the teachers I would be shadowing and substituting for, gave me a run down of my daily responsibilities, and manditory documents to turn in (shots, fingerprints, etc). Was hired the next day.
