Basic introduction
• Discuss your background, projects
• Questions like:
• Why Descript?
• What do you know about our product?
• Salary expectations
👉 Tip: Be ready to talk about audio/video editing, AI tools, or content workflows since Descript is in that space.
Difficult interview
Application
I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at State Street in Oct 2018
Interview
I applied online and got a 30-minute phone interview. It seems that the interviewer had a list of questions and he got through one by one. First several questions were easy but then the questions went harder and harder. I received the reject only one business day after the interview.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
What is ACID in database? What is the difference between SQL and NoSQL database?
Interview process consisted of:
Logical/Puzzle interview -> Phone screening -> take home project -> Interview with managers
The main thing that made this process so unenjoyable was that it took place over 4 months (Early december to early march) which is unacceptable for an interview process.
