I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Start Early (Chicago, IL) in Mar 2015
Interview
I had one phone interview with an HR representative and then 1 in person interview with two potential supervisors. The Ounce does not have the best reputation around Chicago. It is known as an organization with no upward mobility, low pay, unnecessarily competitive, and people who aren't there for the mission but instead to tote their degrees and say they "work for good". But figured I should find out for myself. It was absolutely the vibe that came off in the interview. When I asked what their favorite part of the job was, they answered the people. Great answer, except they went on to talk about "all the phds and experts" they talk to on a regular basis, and that everyone who works there is an "A" student reaching for that A+. They never talked about the mission. They also expect people with a masters degree to fall into administrative roles.

Question 1
They asked relevant questions to my resume, which was nice.
I applied online. The process took 5 months. I interviewed at Start Early
Interview
The interview process took over five months. I applied in early November and got contacted by an HR representative in late November for a phone screening. I was told their hire date would be January. Once I completed the phone screening, I didn't hear back for 3-4 weeks. Then, in December, I was told they were postponing their next interviewing phase until January. I had my first round of interviews in mid January. I didn't hear back from anyone for another three weeks. I was scheduled for a final interview at the end of February. I was told that they would make a final decision and get back to me within a week; ultimately, I reached out and was told I was not the selected candidate two weeks later, in early March. I enjoyed everyone I met with, but I was taken aback at the lack of organization and consideration of the candidate's overall energy investment into their interview process, given the responsibility level and compensation of the role. The organization should re-evaluate hiring processes and be more mindful and respectful of prospective hires. No hiring process should take five months.

Question 1
Some questions asked: ( All are paraphrased) Why do you want to work at Start Early? Why do you want to leave your current employer? How do you prioritize multiple tasks? How do you handle conflict in the workplace?
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Start Early in Sep 2018
Interview
The interview process was an initial phone screen, an in-person interview with three interviewers (they are part of the family engagement team in this case), and another in-person interview with a writing exercise. I was not able to attend the final in-person interview because I accepted another offer, but the interview process was really positive and everyone you meet is amazing!
