      Sales Engineer Interview

      Apr 18, 2025
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Squint in Mar 2025

      Interview

The interview process was 6 unnecessary interviews: recruiter, hiring manager, head of product, two directors of sales, then a panel demo where they give you the product and you present it to them as if they're a customer. The product is actually very good and I enjoyed learning to use it. Despite the process being long, I enjoyed meeting with the team and getting to know them. After all of that (3+ total hours of being on calls with them) the recruiter then messaged me a week later to schedule a meeting. I thought it was going to be to discuss an offer. This guy actually scheduled a meeting to reject me instead of calling/leaving a voicemail/sending an email. It was as if they couldn't waste any more of my time. Very unprofessional and left a very bad taste in my mouth. Very typical with these small startups. They are also they are making their employees come into the office in SF 5 days a week.
