I applied through an employee referral. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Spinutech in Apr 2026
Interview
6 total interviews: Screening (HR), peer interview, direct report interview, COO, peer interview (impromptu), CEO.
While the process was long, there was a sense that nobody I spoke with was really "driving". With the exception of the COO, nobody seemed to have an agenda or plan for the conversation. Honestly, the peer and direct report interviews felt like they were something of an annoyance getting in the way of other work that needed to be done.
When I spoke to the CEO, she admitted that she wasn't even sure the role we were talking about was the right one, or if they should be hiring for a different position entirely (which seems odd given how late in the process we were).
None of the interviews were recorded either, so not sure how they are gathering feedback or vetting the process internally, or ensuring their interviewers are doing a good job.
Everyone I spoke with was very pleasant and most seemed competent. They were also very honest and transparent about what was working and not working in the firm and what this hire would need to do to be successful (or not).
I applied online. I interviewed at Spinutech in Mar 2026
Interview
Made it to the third round interview out of four. I waited a week to hear back and heard nothing, I reached out for an update and it was then that they let me know I did not make it to the final round. They had no intention of letting me know that.
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Spinutech
Interview
There was an initial conversation with a recruiter, then an HR person, then a real interview with a couple of IT people. There was also a code sample requirement, but the choices were all pretty silly things that had no real world website application. Ultimately they said they would hire me, but strung me along for months saying they were just waiting for their client needs to create an opening. After probably 4 or 5 months of waiting and being told "next month", I stopped replying to them.

They asked that I write code to evaluate if an entered string was the same backwards and forwards.
