I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at SolarCity (San Diego, CA) in Sep 2014
Interview
The most disorganized process I've ever been apart of. The recruiter had no idea what he was doing. It seemed like they just got him off the street. He didn't really seem excited about the company, which didn't really make me too excited. I honestly accepted the job, because I was very eager to learn solar, but now I just want to find a company that cares more about their quality than getting their kWs
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at SolarCity
Interview
Applied online. Got a call from a recruiter about a week later. Quick phone screen, then scheduled in person interview with regional operations manager for the following week(happens to be today). Interviewed with about 11 other applicants, we watched a slideshow and a couple videos explaining the job, history of the company, benefits, etc. Then we broke off into individual interviews with the operations manager and the recruiter. Hands down the most laid back interview ever, the manager didnt even really speak, recruiter asked all the questions(like 2 or 3) basic questions about my experience, my feelings about height, etc. real simple. this particular interview was for a brand new office thats opening in my area so theyre hiring several people. was told by recruiter that ill hear from him within 48 hours, looking forward to it.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at SolarCity (Phoenix, AZ) in Aug 2014
Interview
Group interview at the beginning. One on one interview after was a breeze. Not really an interview at all. They asked simple no brainier questions. Do you know how to use power tools. Are you afraid of heights. Be clean cut have a pulse, and anyone can get through. The only way to get an interview is to know someone who works there. That is the only way to get an interview
