I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at SkyWest Airlines (Detroit, MI) in Feb 2018
Interview
I applied online and then attended a recruitment event in Detroit, MI. When you first arrive they take a copy of your resume and measure you to make sure you're within their height restriction. They then give a short presentation about the company. Most of the information they give is on the website on the Flight Attendant career page. They then give you a question (which has already been stated on Glassdoor by multiple people). You get a break to think about how you're going to answer the question. Then after the break each person gets called up and has 60 seconds to present their answer. Make sure to answer the question they asked. Don't try to be funny or cute, and don't try telling your life story. To me it seemed like they were looking to hear what experience people brought to the table and how that would help them be a good flight attendant. After everyone was finished presenting they posted the names of the people who would get a face to face interview on the door. Out of a group of 30, about 12 people got a face to face. I was lucky enough to have made it through.
The face to face interview was relaxed. We went over my resume, and I was asked a few questions. Some of the questions made me think, but I wouldn't say that they were difficult to answer. I was then able to ask any questions that I had. I am now starting the two week window, and waiting to hear if I got the job or not.
Overall the experience was very positive. The recruiters were very friendly. The most nerve wracking part for me, was having to get up in front of a group of strangers and promote myself. My main advice would be; be yourself, answer the question they ask, and do your homework before hand.

Question 1
For you, what would be the hardest part of being a Flight Attendant?
It was a virtual one on one and after this process they alerted me of my training date a week later. The process was so pretty seemless and the company is good to work for but any little mistake you make you can be out.
The interview process was quick and easy. The recruiters were nice and answered all of my questions. They explained how the benefits worked and were very knowledgeable and the company.

I applied online. I interviewed at SkyWest Airlines (Atlanta, GA) in May 2026
Interview
Most of the interview involved picking apart my previous work experience. Asked a few basic questions, they are just looking for a certain look. It’s obvious. My look did not fit the part
