      Account Executive Interview

      Sep 23, 2019
      Anonymous employee
      Vancouver, BC
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Sign In Solutions (Vancouver, BC) in Aug 2019

      Interview

My interview process had 3 stages. An initial meeting with one of the sales managers, a product demo, and then a culture fit meeting. The initial meeting was pretty informal and gives you an idea about what the opportunity is like and they're also trying to gauge if you're a good fit. The demo is opportunity to show off your sales presentation style, and the culture fit is there to make sure that you're a fit with the office and it also gives you a chance to get to know some of your future teammates before you start.

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Sign In Solutions (Burnaby, BC) in Aug 2019

      Interview

2-3 Conversations over the phone and a 2 in person interview including a product demonstration. It was a great experience and everyone was very open and friendly. They had me sit down with current employees to make sure I fit the culture of the company. This is very important to me because having a healthy work environment is top of my list.

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Sign In Solutions (Vancouver, BC)

      Interview

The interview process was a series of phone calls and in-person discussions. What started as a referral and quick chat, turned into a meeting with the management and team leads. The next step was to perform a demonstration, which was a lot of fun. I felt like it gave me the time to dig into the software and truly determine if I wanted to play with it everyday. This demo experience definitively helped me with my decision around which company I wanted to work for. The last step on the interview path was a culture lunch (easy peasy, right? Haha... keep reading). The people team coordinator I was working with was very friendly throughout the whole experience. I felt as if I had someone on the inside who was really pulling for me to succeed! I had gotten through a series of conversations and really felt like I was in the right place. In most culture interviews you don’t really need to worry about your performance. You just show up and be you. By this point, I was feeling pretty good about things and thought, this should be fun! I get to meet the team! The meeting invite came in with the CTO and CEO on the attending list. Gulp! Better prepare I thought, but how? Well, what I learned from the culture interview is that at Traction Guest, culture really starts from the top. Traction Guest is a company where people are busy and working hard, but everyone is on the same page when it comes to culture. The fact that the leadership is willing to take time out of their busy days to make sure that the right kind of candidates are coming in, speaks a lot about their commitment to culture. The culture interview went well, I didn’t need to prepare, I just needed to show up and be me. It was a great conversation between people who valued each other’s time and experiences. This face to face with leadership doesn’t stop when your hired. Within the first week of employment, the CEO sits down with new employees to go through the values. It truly is a big part of what we care about at Traction Guest!

CEO-I'm glad that the interview process was logical. The demo can be fun and I'm glad you saw it that way. Thanks for discussing the values as well, I agree that it's a big part of what we care about.
