Very brief interview focused on my past lab experience, cared more about my base knowledge over my capacity to problem solve.
A Few "skill testing questions" but it is more on a PI by PI basis.

What molecular lab techniques do you have experience with?
For the role, they redirect you to the team you would be belonging to, they are in charge of the questions and it seems these vary depending on the team. There were 5 lab members but only one was doing the interview in my case.

Very brief 5 min interview with the team. The usual tell me about yourself and your goals and then one last technical question.

Interview
The process took 1 week. I was called in for a 1:1 interview with the hiring manager. Then I interviewed with senior lab staff and was given a tour. The interviewers asked about technical experienece in a scientific field. Very straight forward and relaxed interview. Lots of opportunity to ask questions.
