They reached out because they liked my experience and thought it might be a fit for a some roles they may have opening up soon. Had a few interviews that seemed to go well. The main interviewer reached out and said that it didn't seem like I was the best fit for the ones they had in mind, but that they enjoyed the conversation and would reach out if there was another role that made sense. Honestly, I appreciated that he reached out early in the process to let me know that they liked me but I was not going to get an offer for that role, and it was up to me whether I wanted to keep talking to them and see if there was another role. With the way other interview processes have gone, and people ghosting candidates all the time, I appreciated the straightforward responses.
