I initially interviewed for the Philadelphia location for a Front Desk position and had pleasant interviews with the Experience Manager and the regional manager. I was then encouraged to apply for a newly opened Leasing position since I had prior experience.
Unfortunately, that’s where the experience started to go downhill. When it came time to interview for the 3rd round with another associate, she missed two scheduled Zoom interviews. When I called to follow up, the interview was ultimately conducted as a brief phone call instead. During the conversation, she repeatedly asked about the demographic I had experience working with while also emphasizing that this was THE top multifamily property in Philadelphia and called herself “the face” haha.
I found it ironic that a company emphasizing excellence seemed to struggle with something as basic as communication and follow-up throughout the hiring process. I had never experienced blatant missed interviews with any company ever. This associate truly was a talking contradiction.
In the end, I received a generic “we’ll keep your resume on file” email and got no follow up about the front desk position. Having worked in property management, I know how important strong leadership and communication is, and this experience suggested the fit probably wasn’t right for me. I’m confident that I would’ve been great! But it’s clear our expectations didn’t align, and that’s okay.
I genuinely wish the person who got the position the best of luck! The property itself is absolutely gorgeous :)
