Applied Online.
Participated in an hour long screening interview with recruiter. The recruiter asked several basic technical questions, but they were not able to provide more context when asked. It was pretty clear that the recruiter did not fully understand the questions they were asking. Not a great sign when nontechnical people are asking technical questions.

Interview
Was sent an email to schedule an interview with SOE. The first interview included a technical interview at the end after learning more about the company, then there is an interview with the engineering team, then a final interview where they fly you to the location.

Question 1
The technical interview can be tough if you don't have a solid electrical engineering background. Asked me questions such as given a battery and two wires how can you find the capacitance of the battery? Difference between heap and stack? What do you know about I^2C protocol? and other similar questions. I was surprised the questions were so difficult considering it was an entry level position.
Phone screen, take home assignment, 1 hr call with hiring manager.
I left with a bad taste in my mouth because after reaching the late stage of the interview process, they ultimately decided that I didn't have "the level of exposure with the types of projects that would be needed in order to jump in." I have no problem with the feedback, but they should have determined this before such time commitment.
