I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Seattle Kraken (Seattle, WA) in Sep 2023
Interview
Had 4 interviews-- a phone screening, a conversation with the hiring manager, a conversation with the sales team and a conversation with the analytics team. Kraken ended up ghosting me for 2 weeks until I followed up (turn around time was supposed to be a few days), then again for another week until I followed up again, which I then heard I was no longer in consideration.
To be honest, I would have likely declined if I was offered the position. The position was in a sketchy organizational structure (reporting directly to sales leadership as a data analyst-- not conducive to a healthy bandwidth protection or professional growth). Very much of a sports organization first and a data driven organization second, which is to be expected.
People were pretty nice, but the lack of communication was unacceptable in my opinion.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
How would you identify an opportunity for sales using data?
I talked with really great people. They were easy to talk with and they all shared a passion for sports, community and Seattle. Seemed like a great place to work.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Asked about my interest in bringing communities together and how I'd create opportunities for people to connect around shared passion for sports.
I only had a first round interview. They were looking for people with greater experience than was outlined in the job description even though this was an entry level position.
