I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at SeaTac Lighting & Controls (South Seattle, WA) in Feb 2013
Interview
Three rounds of interviews. The first with the office manager and the Customer Service lead at the time. The second was with two salespeople and the third was with one of the owners. Somewhat casual and laid back tones in all three interviews, never felt intimidated or nervous.
Most of the interviews focused on the explanation of what the company does within the commercial lighting industry (where we fit in when it comes to sales, specifying, ordering, etc.). The first two interviews were a bit more formal with some questions and answer opportunities. The last interview with the owner was more of a "getting to know you" meeting to ensure it was a good fit.
You could tell the employees (and owners) at SeaTac were very inclusive and cared a lot about each other. It was refreshing to hear that they often times spent time together outside of work at sporting events, happy hours, etc.
I was told they would get back to me on the position within a week and I got an offer within 3 days, was not able to negotiate salary or PTO since I had no industry experience but I have heard they are open to negotiating in some cases.
Overall, the entire interview process was painless and actually pretty fun. It was great to walk around the office and get a feel for the people who worked there. I was and still am very happy I took that offer!
