I went through multiple interview rounds for a People Systems Administrator role, including an onsite interview. The interview experience itself was positive — the team was professional, and conversations were thoughtful and engaging.
However, after the onsite, I was told a hiring decision would be made by a specific date. That date passed, and despite following up professionally with both the recruiter and hiring manager, I never received a response or closure.
I understand that priorities can change and delays happen, but completely dropping communication with a final-stage candidate was disappointing, especially for a role within the People function. A brief update or formal rejection would have gone a long way.
Overall, while the interviews were strong, the lack of follow-up significantly impacted my perception of the company’s candidate experience.
