am writing to share my feedback regarding the recent recruitment process with Saregama, which, unfortunately, did not work out as communicated to me on 22nd January by the Saregama team.
It is disheartening to see this outcome, especially since I had made significant adjustments to accommodate this opportunity. On 15th January, I received indications from the Greenroots team that my candidature was well-received, and I was asked to share the required documents. Acting in good faith, I extended my notice period at Mindshare by two days, despite my last working day being initially set for 16th January.
During this time, I also turned down an increment offer from Mindshare and chose not to pursue an offer from a global agency, as I was led to believe that Saregama would be sharing the offer letter soon. For three days following the submission of my documents, I actively followed up and was consistently informed that the approval was pending internally. At no point was I made aware of any other concerns or potential outcomes until I was informed otherwise on 22nd January.
I had clearly communicated that my decision to choose a brand over an agency stemmed from my years of experience in the digital space and my alignment with Saregama's vision. It is deeply disappointing that the process has ended this way, especially with no clear reasoning provided. This situation has not only impacted my career progression but also my credibility at Mindshare, where I declined opportunities based on the understanding that the offer from Saregama was forthcoming.
I am sharing this experience in the hope that steps can be taken to ensure such situations do not happen to other candidates in the future. It is concerning to see such an established brand unable to align its internal requirements and communicate decisions clearly, particularly at such a critical stage.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, and I trust my feedback will be received in the constructive spirit in which it is shared.
