This was the most streamlined, efficient, and communicative interviewing process I have ever been a part of. Samsara has set a new golden standard in my eyes of what it means to be a candidate and have your time valued.
I applied via LinkedIn with both a resume and cover letter.
The interview process was as follows:
1. Recruiter phone conversation
2. Hiring manager phone conversation
3. Panel interview with 3 x 1-1 conversations (Hiring manager, Sr. Director, & technical peer interview).
4. Take home assignment with final presentation to hiring manager.
The process took a total of 4 weeks from application to verbal & written offer.
After each step of the interview process, I received communication within 24-48 hours on next steps, often including feedback on how the previous round was perceived. Throughout the process, there was constant two-way communication with the recruiter ensuring that the role continued to be a potential mutual fit.
All in all, the hiring process gave me confidence that I would be a valued employee and that Samsara continuously strives for a mutual fit above all else.
While the interview process was relatively involved and somewhat difficult, its was more behavioral than technical. The intensity arose more so from my own desire to try to land the job. The team asked very thoughtful questions and probed to gain further clarification about different situational interview questions. All aspects of the interview targeted my thought processes, technical aptitude, willingness to learn, ability to communicate, and desire to be a team player.
Overall it was a great experience.
