Got a call an hour and a half after I applied. They knew I was applying for the CGO coordinator and saw my resume with a qualifying background. When I arrived they said they don’t hire people “off the street” for this position, they are fully staffed during the hours that position is usually scheduled for, and that I have no experience in CGO anyway. They offered me a job as deli or stocking for minimum wage. I declined as that was not what the listing was and it was not what I was there for. This felt like a bait and switch, she laughed at me when I told her I wasn’t interested, saying I want the $24 an hour position. Yes, actually it’s not only that I wanted it, it’s that that is what’s necessary to successfully go back to work and afford child care. So… laugh it up, good luck hiring people with this method…
